Accessibility Information
We want every guest to have clear and accurate information when deciding whether The Cudgee will meet their needs.
The property was not originally designed as accessible accommodation and has some physical access limitations. We encourage guests with mobility, vision, hearing, sensory or other access requirements to contact us before booking. Our team can explain the property and room layouts so you can make an informed decision.
Before you book
Please contact us if you would like to discuss:
the route from the car park to your room
steps, slopes and changes in floor level
room location and proximity to parking
doorway and circulation widths
bathroom layout and facilities
shower access
bed height and clearance
lighting or other sensory considerations
refrigeration for medication
any other individual requirements
Where helpful, we can provide additional photographs or measurements before you book.
Getting to and around the property
Parking: Parking is located near to the rooms on the same level. The drive way is gravel so please bear that in mind when considering getting from your car to your room. The Family Room (Dog Friendly) and the Deluxe Twin Rooms offer the closest parking options - directly outside the rooms, subject to availability. There is one step from the driveway to the rooms.
Reception: Located at the western end of the property. It has two steps with a strong hand rail. The door is a sliding door with good width.
Guest rooms: All of our rooms are located on the ground floor. There is one step from the driveway to the entry walkway for the rooms. There are no steps in the rooms. Each room has a shower with a level walk-in. There are no steps into the showers or bathroom.
Paths and common areas: The driveway is bluestone gravel. It is part of the original design of the motel. It has small undulations throughout. The rest of the common areas are accessed by concrete pathways (The Paddocks) or over grass (the pergolas). We have lighting throughout the front of the property at night, including the lawn/garden areas and the walkway by the rooms.
The Paddocks: Accessed via a concrete path off the driveway. There is a small threshold for the main doors. The floor inside is level. There is an external toilet that has a small step.
Guest rooms and bathrooms
The Cudgee does not currently offer a purpose-built accessible room. Our rooms may include steps, narrow access points or bathroom configurations that are unsuitable for some guests.
[If accurate: Some rooms may be easier to reach than others. Please contact us so we can explain the differences and help identify the most suitable available option.]
Our bathrooms have step-free showers. They do not currently include fixed grab rails, accessible-height toilets or wheelchair turning space. We do offer a shower chair on request.
Assistance animals
Accredited assistance animals are welcome in accordance with applicable law. Please let us know before arrival so we can help make suitable arrangements.
